Award-winning comedian Trevor Noah and kidfluencer prodigy Lethukuthula ‘Lethu’ Bhengu has take Africa to the world with 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 wins.

Hosted live from the Microsoft Theatre by Nate Burleson and Charli D’Amelio, while Lerai Rakoditsoe hosted the KCA Africa Special, the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 was filled with extreme logic-defying stunts, illusions and tricks.

Comedian, writer, producer, actor, and television host Trevor Noah won the KCA African Star Award category, while internet sensation and young prodigy Lethukuthula ‘Lethu’ Bhengu took home the Favourite African Kidfluencer Award.

Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Transformers’ heroic leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, presented by Pete Davidson, Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos, cast members from the upcoming sci-fi action film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Vice President, Paramount Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Viacom International Studios & Creative Services for Africa, Dillon Khan, said “It’s such an honour to be voted for by your fans around the world. These awards are a showcase of the power of local talent, and the categories are a commitment to showcasing Africa’s potential on a global scale.”

Other award categories included; Television, film, music, sports, creators, family, video game, book and celebrity.

Opening dance medley featured Burleson, D’Amelio and content creators Michael Le and Markell Washington, as they recreated some of the biggest dance trends of the year, culminating with a performance from Bebe Rexha of her chart-topping hit single, “I’m Good (Blue);”

Special King of Comedy Silver Blimp was given to Adam Sandler for his prolific career in comedy as an actor, writer, producer, comedian and musician over the past 30 years.

The awards also aired exclusive teaser clips from action-adventure fantasy feature film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, presented by cast members Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez; and the CG-animated superhero theatrical, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, presented by Seth Rogen and the voice cast Micah Abbey (Donatello), Shamon Brown Jr. (Michelangelo), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael), both concluding with ultimate slimings and other programmes.
