Truck of adulterated fertilisers intercepted in Kebbi

The Police in Kebbi State has intercepted a truck carrying 460 bags of adulterated fertilisers.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mohammed Lawal She’ahu Arugungu, disclosing this, said the four suspected men in possession of the adulterated fertilisers and truck had been handed over to the ministry.

Arugungu said the Police patrol team intercepted the truck, while the fertiliser was confirmed to be adulterated at Kebbi State Environmental Protection Agency laboratory.

He, therefore, urged farmers to be careful about the fertilizer deployed on their farms.

Meanwhile, the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have commenced the second phase of 2019 birth certificate exercise in Kebbi State.

The exercise is ongoing across the 21 wards of Jega Local Government of the state.
