TUC flays government over outages
The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has flayed the Federal Government over the epileptic power supply nationwide. It is particularly vexed that Nigerians were still in darkness despite the huge investments in the sector.
In a statement by its first deputy president, Sunday Salako and secretary general, Musa-Lawal Ozigi, TUC argued that the electricity generating companies (GENCOS) and distribution companies (DISCOS) rip off the public monthly through humongous estimated bills without commensurate services.
The union, in its 58th Independence message, noted that the nation was fast becoming a dumping ground for goods and services that are harmful to the well being of the citizens and national security. It urged government to create an enabling environment for investments to thrive, noting that it was not doing enough to gainfully engage the youths.
