Speaking at the event, Onwunzo, who is also the publisher of PUMA, said the award was aimed at honouring men and women in different sectors who have contributed to humanity and community development.

“There are outstanding Nigerians who have distinguished themselves and contributed immensely to humanity and we are saying thank you and encourage them to do more for the people and invest in human capital.

On the criteria in selecting the awardees, he said: “We follow their activities and we concluded that they deserve it. We don’t do voting to pick winners, we just look at what they have done and select the best.

Speaking on the awardees, he said: “We considered Sen. Ubah worthy for his good representation. Ubah has done well and people can see his work in Anambra South and we get good reports about him. The president of the National Assembly, Ahmad Lawan, named him the Prince of the senate.

“Despite the fact that Femi Adesina is serving in the Muhammadu Buhari government, he has been a very big brand in the media sector and that’s why we called him influencial media person of the year.

Also speaking, CEO, Above Media TV, Chukwukadibia Nwachukwu, said: “It is important to note that Hall of Fame Award is not just to give people award but to encourage people who are doing well because the reward for any good job is a call for more jobs. We have followed these people, seen their pedigree, the impact they have made to the society and this is the reason we appreciated them. And also motivate others to queue and then start doing what is right.
