Customs Comptroller, Abubakar Umar, has taken over the reigns of leadership of the Western Marine Command (WMC) of the service as the substantive Customs Area Controller (CAC)
During a brief handing and taking over at the WMC Headquarters, Ibafon-Apapa, Lagos, the outgoing Ag. CAC, Enonche Ochiba, congratulated the substantive Area Controller for his posting.
In a press statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Isah Sulaiman, the outgoing Customs boss appreciated the officers and men of the command for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged them to accord maximum support and cooperation to the new Area Controller.
In his remark, Comptroller Umar urged the officers to rededicate themselves to their statutory responsibilities.
He charged them to be disciplined and work according to the codes, procedures, departmental instructions and laws as enshrined in the Customs and Excise Management Act Cap C45 2004 as amended.
Umar was among the Comptrollers who were recently redeployed on February 8, 2022 by the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali.
Until his appointment, Umar was the Comptroller Discipline at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja.
