As part of its yearlong activities to mark its centenary anniversary, Union Bank recently celebrated with its customers and stakeholders in Abuja, Oyo and Enugu in appreciation of their commitment and support over the years. This is following similar regional celebrations, which took place earlier in the year in Edo, Kano, Rivers and Osun states.

The lineup of events included anniversary galas in the three locations, which were attended by customers, government functionaries, diplomats and other stakeholders. Five newly upgraded branches were also unveiled, all of which were designed to ensure customers enjoy quality banking experience every time.

Speaking about the anniversary celebrations, Emeka Emuwa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank said: “Our 100-year heritage is one that we are very proud of. As we celebrate this landmark anniversary, we acknowledge and appreciate our customers and key stakeholders who have stood by us through the years. They are the reason we are where we are today. They are also the reason why we will not relent on our commitment to provide simpler, smarter banking services all the time. This is our watchword as we prepare to launch into a new century as a bank.”

A former member, House of Representatives and a customer of the bank, Eseme Eyiboh, who spoke at the anniversary gala in Abuja, said: “In a nation like Nigeria, Union Bank stands out amongst others for inculcating ethical integrity, leadership and of course diligence and professionalism in all its activities. We therefore congratulate them on this special anniversary.”
