Unknown gunmen invade Imo commissioner’s ancestral home
Again, unknown gunmen at the weekend invaded the ancestral home of Imo State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity, Ford Ozumba, in Umuho, Okabia, Orsu Local Council of Imo State, attacking the building and other property with explosives.
Ozumba, who confirmed the incident, yesterday, said the hoodlums perpetrated the act at night, thanking God that no life was lost.
Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Michael Abattam, did not pick his calls when The Guardian, reached out to him.
The unpleasant incident was the fifth attacks on public office holders and public facilities by bandits in the state.
The Correctional Centre on Okigwe Road, Owerri, was attacked, with about 1,800 inmates freed. Thereafter, the ancestral home of Governor Hope Uzodimma, in Omuma, Oru East Local Council, was attacked, with a security man killed.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba and the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Charles O. Cyprain Akaolisa, also tasted similar pill as hoodlums invaded their homes.
Also, after the bandits had burnt down several police stations at various local councils, about fortnight ago, they made their way at the ancestral home of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. George Obiozor, in Awomama, Oru East Local Council.
