Useni, PDP to appeal Plateau guber tribunal judgment
Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election in Plateau State, General Jeremiah Useni has indicated readiness to appeal the judgment of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Jos, to retrieve his mandate, which he claimed was freely given to him by the people.
Having been fully briefed by his legal team on the outcome of his petition, which he lost, Useni expressed appreciation to the legal experts, saying he has confidence in them.
A statement by his Media Consultant, Mr. Yiljap Abraham, said he also expressed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary to do justice.
According to the statement, “General Useni is convinced that there are many grounds to appeal the judgment. He has therefore instructed the legal team to take all processes with immediate effect and proceed on appeal against the judgment.”
Meanwhile, Plateau State Chapter of the party has described the affirmation of Governor Simon Lalong’s election by the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos as a travesty of justice.
