Uzodinma presents N346.2b 2021 budget to Assembly

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, yesterday, presented 2021 budget, totalling N346.2 billion, to the state House of Assembly.

The budget, titled “Budget of Wealth Creation,” captured N271.5 billion for capital expenditure, which is 78.4 per cent of the budget, while N74.6 billion, representing 21.6 per cent, was mapped for recurrent expenditure.

The budget also represented an increase of N237.7 billion of the 2020 revised budget, which stood at N108. 4 billion.

Uzodinma said the government would continue with policies that would guarantee increased private sector investment, downstream value-chain addition, productivity, as well as boost youths’ agro-entrepreneurship, to encourage the growth of small and medium scale enterprises.

The Speaker, Paul Emeziem, among others, applauded the governor for giving priority attention to the development of SMEs, youths’ empowerment, job creation, improved security, and others.
