Viral Tiktok Video: Police arrest two, says lady alive
The Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspected cultists who allegedly tortured and humiliated a lady identified as Queen Perri following a viral TikTok video she made on social media.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Philip Ogbadu, disclosed this while addressing journalists after the monthly state security meeting at the Government House, Benin City.
He said two of the boys involved in the torture of the lady had been arrested and were in police custody, adding that the command has intensified search for the other culprits.
Ogbadu said the girl was alive and being taken care of at a health facility in the state, as against the news making the rounds on social media that the girl had died.
He said: “It was alleged that the girl was killed. She is alive, but because of the social stigma that may be attached, we will not bring them out now. However, you will see the boys later.”
Reaffirming the commitment of security agencies in the state to the security of lives and property of citizens, the Police Commissioner added: “We have already drawn an operation for the ember months. Very soon, you will see an improvement in our operations. The military too are coming out to launch an operation from Monday on Ehor Road. Definitely, it’s going to be safe during the ember months.”
