WACHEF takes free hepatitis test to Taraba IDPs

Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) has embarked on free hepatitis test for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Taraba State.

Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) has embarked on free hepatitis test for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Taraba State.

This is in its efforts to contribute to elimination of Viral Hepatitis in the world by the year 2030.

It said, “internally displaced persons, who are among the vulnerable population considering their pathetic situation willingly came out for the free test for viral hepatitis B and C.

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of WACHEF, Dr. Garba Danjuma, said the exercise, which was part of the just concluded World Hepatitis Day, was aimed at reducing the prevalence of the disease in the state and the county.

Danjuma, who stated this in an interactive session in Jalingo, added that the foundation provides free hepatitis B and C test to willing individuals in the IDP camps with their consent.
