The Federal Government has said it verified and certified over 200 Zonal Intervention and Constituency Projects across the six geopolitical zones in the last one year.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Uche Agaecheta from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.
It read, “In a decisive move to cascade the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the grassroots, the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs has verified and certified over 200 Zonal Intervention and Constituency Projects across the six geopolitical zones in the country.”
According to the statement, the projects were executed to support small and medium enterprises, farming, skill acquisition, electricity supply and job creation in rural communities.
It said, “The over 200 Zonal Intervention and Constituency Projects which were executed in the last one year focused on boosting growth of Small and Medium Enterprises, farming, skill acquisition, electricity supply and provision of gainful employment in rural communities.”
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Onwusoro Maduka, made this known on Thursday at the 2026 International Civil Service Conference in Abuja.
Maduka spoke during a presentation titled, “Collaboration Activities of Government: A Strategic Pathway for National Development, Effective Governance and Sustainable Service Delivery in Nigeria.”
The statement quoted him as saying that modern governance required collaboration, innovation, institutional coordination, citizens’ engagement, transparency and measurable outcomes.
He said, “Modern governance requires collaboration, innovation, institutional coordination, citizens engagement, transparency and measurable outcomes.”
Maduka said the challenges facing Nigeria could only be addressed through effective collaboration among all levels of government and other stakeholders.
He said, “The myriad challenges facing Nigeria such as insecurity, unemployment, poverty, infrastructure deficit, economic volatility, climate change and declining public trust can only be tackled through effective collaboration between the Federal, State, Local Council, Security Agencies, Development Partners, Civil Society and Citizens Engagement.”
According to him, the collaboration between the ministry, Galaxy Backbone and Aig-Imoukhuede had improved the ministry’s operations.
He said, “The collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Special Duties, Galaxy Backbone and Aig-Imoukhuede has contributed immensely to the deployment of an Enterprise Content Management System, institutionalised paperless operations, institutional transparency, improved workflow and records management.”
The permanent secretary also recommended measures to strengthen inter-governmental and public-private sector collaboration.
He listed them as the introduction of a coordination framework, strengthening of digital governance, deepening of grassroots governance, capacity building, expansion of stakeholders’ engagement, joint monitoring and accountability.
