The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of National Hospital, Dr. Jaf Momoh, said the hospital has treated no fewer than 850 cancer patients in over 25,000 Radiotherapy sessions within two years.

Momoh disclosed this in an interview during the commissioning of the second cancer treatment equipment donated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Shell.

He explained that with the commissioning of the new LINAC, the hospital would provide effective and efficient treatment of cancer in the hospital, adding that patients’ care will no longer be interrupted during routine equipment maintenance.

He solicited support for the completion and provision of necessary equipment for the cancer complex, which he said, was 85 per cent completed and has capacity to admit up to 80 patients.
