President Muhammadu Buhari’s style of administration came under attack yesterday as apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, declared that his actions negate fairness and justice.

Ohanaeze stated that the marginalisation of Ndigbo, which it alleged started since in 1970, had been exacerbated under the Buhari administration, alleging that he (Buhari) was acting to provoke Ndigbo into taking a step that could be used to justify a clamp down on the people.

Reviewing the style of the administration, Secretary General of Ohanaeze, Dr. Joe Nworgu, said in Enugu that the President had by his actions so far furthered the exclusion of the zone in the affairs of the country, the same way he did when he was military head of state in 1983 and head of the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) under the late Gen. Sani Abacha.

He said: “The situation of Ndigbo has been very bad since 1970, but under Buhari, it has been exacerbated and his attitude and utterances are not helping matters. Buhari is acting to provoke us into taking a wrong step for him to find reason to clamp down on us. So, we are advising our youths to calm down.

“From the mindset of our President, Ndigbo should not play any role in the country. When he did his 32 appointments, I said it that he needed to be President for all Nigerians, because nepotism is corruption.
