Wike to inaugurate Rivers community school tomorrow
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike will tomorrow inaugurate the reconstructed Community Secondary School, Ubima that was once used as a facility by kidnappers.
His media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, said the learning institution, whose reconstruction began 18 months ago, was deserted by teachers and students due to its occupation by abductors who also turned the facility into a detention camp for hostages.
The project, the aide added, was executed after ex-Governor Celestine Omehia and other stakeholders sought the intervention of his boss.
“The Rivers State Governor respected them and took the right action. On February 3, 2018, Governor Wike flagged off the total reconstruction of the Community Secondary School, Ubima.”
“Governor Wike said the decision to reconstruct the school was aimed at taking education to the rural communities of Rivers State, “ Nwakaudu added.
