WIMBIZ tasks educational institutions on sexual harassment
Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has called on educational institutions to strengthen their systems and structures against sexual harassment, violence against women and all forms of abuses.
The organisation said the appeal has become imperative following the recent sexual harassment at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State.
It, however, commended the authorities of the tertiary institution for the bold decision it took by sacking the randy lecturer who was demanding sex for marks.
WIMBIZ challenged women to be expressive on sexual harassment, discrimination and uphold moral values.
It appealed to government to come up with stringent laws to protect the rights of women nationwide.
