A Magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt has sentenced a young lady identified as Blessing Stephen to 10 years imprisonment for conspiracy and child trafficking.
Stephen, (the second defendant) was charged alongside Abigail Monday (the first defendant) and mother of the victim, for conspiring and selling her one-year-old baby, identified as Blessing Sunday, for N200, 000.
In her judgment Chief Magistrate Felicitas Amanze, described Blessing Stephen as an unrepentant and hardened liar, stressing that the prosecution was able to prove their matter.
While the court directed that Abigail Monday must report to the court three times a week to sweep and dust the furniture in the courtroom for one year as a punishment; it convicted and sentenced Stephen for ten years.
Magistrate Amanze sentenced Stephen to three years in count one and seven years in count two, which she said must run concurrently.
