Yaba CAC celebrates God’s love at 80th anniversary
Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Yaba, Lagos, has concluded plans to roll out drums to mark its 80th anniversary next month.The church, since its inception, has served as coordinating council that has nurtured and groomed many other branches in Lagos and Ogun states.
Having distinguished itself spiritually and physically, alongside its historic and extraordinary choir performances, the church is set to commemorate its 80th anniversary with highpoints activities.
They include mega concert that would feature a massive 400 voices, skills acquisition workshop, free medical checkups, sporting activities and others.
Declaring the theme for the landmark event as Celebrating the Love of God, the Superintendent, Yaba district coordinating council, Pastor S.E.A. Oludare said: “The whole world is coming to Yaba to celebrate God’s love, according to Psalm 36:7.
The church started 80 years ago and is still waxing strong. As part of activities, which will run throughout the entire four quarters of the year, we are going out to visit orphanage homes and provide some of their needs. Also, the event will also serve as an avenue to preach the gospel because one of the cardinal aims of the celebration is to win more souls for Christ.
The Chairman 80th Anniversary Planning Committee, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, Latiiri I, Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom, Osun State said the event would kick-start with Youth Day celebration on the March 7, and during this period, the youths will be exposed to different skills acquisition programmes.
The Youth Day is open to all youths regardless of denomination or faith. While on March 15, a most remarkable mass choir concert will take place at the church premises from 5.00pm.
“CAC Yaba is synonymous with beautiful choral renditions dating back to 1968 when its choir produced the first Christian album in Nigeria. Health Talk and Exhibition is scheduled for March 21, this will serve as an avenue to discuss health-related issues intended to shed lights on the various ways of improving our health. Experts will be delivering lectures on different ways of improving our health. While March 22, would be for free medical checkup. There will be a visit to the less-privileged homes. Ultimately, we are going to preach the gospel at every opportunity,” he said.
