Yilwatda, Mutfwang, Tompolo rally for Tinubu’s re-election

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train yesterday rallied the support of Plateau people for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, urging residents to back his administration in 2027 for his response to insecurity in the state.

APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, and oil pipeline security contractor, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, spoke in Jos during the inauguration of the state and local council structures of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.

They also unveiled 25 campaign vehicles and other mobilisation materials. Yilwatda, who described Tinubu as a friend of Plateau State, cited the federal government’s security interventions and ongoing road projects as evidence of its commitment to the state, and for which the residents should support the APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Among others, Yilwatda said the deployment of the Department of State Services personnel to the troubled communities, including Bokkos and Riyom, as well as plans to establish additional military formations and deploy forest guards, demonstrated the administration’s response to insecurity.

Also, Governor Mutfwang said he had decided since June 2023 to align with Tinubu because he believes his leadership was moving Nigeria forward, urging Nigerians to remain committed to his economic policies, adding that citizens would eventually feel the benefits.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Asuku, said the inauguration was part of a nationwide mobilisation effort to secure another term for the president. He urged the coordinators to intensify grassroots engagement, warning supporters against what he described as the opposition’s empty promises.
