Yobe saves N5b from contracts vetting
The Yobe State Government has succeeded in saving over N5b from the two-year contracts vetting by Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP).
The BPP’s Director-General, Ismaila Mai Adamu, who disclosed this on Friday, at a two-day workshop organised by State’s House of Assembly, MDAs and
Local Governments in Damaturu said the money was made from various incidences of over-invoicing and leakages from revenue collection of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
“This is to further curtail the incidences of over-invoicing, by enforcing the standard market prices list,” he said.
He said to actualise the dreams of the bureau; it restructured the corporate plan with support of PERL-ARC where mandates and functions of the bureau were spelt out.
