As Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ tomorrow, the Archbishop of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Isaac Chijioke Nwaobia, has called on Christians to reflect on the true essence of Christmas, describing it, as a time of joy, peace, and hope.
The cleric noted that despite all the personal and collective challenges and struggles, the faithful should always remember that the good news of Christmas and the message never changes, as it is timeless.
Nwaobia said: “Because Christmas is about the birth of God’s son, Jesus, it is about how he came to give us love, hope and joy. That message doesn’t change from year to year. When there is so much bad news and devastation in the world, this is good news worth celebrating!”
Reminding Christians that Christ is still with them, despite all that they went through during the year, the Archbishop said: “In the midst of it all, we can find comfort in the knowledge that Christ is with us always, as the light that shines in darkness and brings us hope.” So as Christians celebrate the season, Nwaobia urged them to use the occasion to help the less fortunate and the needy, including neighbours.
