A Pan-African group, ITM Services Limited, on Thursday, provided succour to people living with disabilities, drawn from various communities in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, to address the high rate of hunger.

The firm gave cash gifts and various food items like rice, spaghetti, and other important food items that would facilitate a merry yuletide season.

Addressing newsmen while presenting the items, the Country Manager of ITM, Bukola Oyinlola-Anuwe, said the philanthropic gesture was part of the firm’s corporate social responsibility and is what should be imbibed by other private organizations.

She said: “We have done different segments of our corporate social responsibility. This year being the festive period, we decided to reach out to persons with disabilities.

“We wrote to a couple of organizations, we wrote to the Poverty And Disability Initiative, Centre For Citizens With Disability, we also wrote to the Commission, that is the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, amongst other organizations that we invited.

“We have a total of 91 persons in attendance and we were able to give just a little. We are still a growing organisation but we felt like no matter how little we are, we need to start from somewhere before we begin to give trailers and loads of rice. But for now what we did was just something little and we really appreciated all the organisations that came out with their members.

“We would say that this is a little token from our hearts and we wish everyone a merry Christmas and Happy New year.”
