Zamfara Approves ₦32,000 Monthly Pension Increase for Retirees

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved a ₦32,000 monthly pension increment for all retirees in the state as part of measures to cushion the impact of the prevailing economic hardship.

The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Mohammed Dantawasa.

According to the statement, the increment is in addition to the existing monthly pensions currently being paid and will benefit both state and local government pensioners across Zamfara State.

The commissioner disclosed that Governor Lawal has directed the State Accountant General to commence the immediate implementation and payment of the ₦32,000 monthly increment to all eligible pensioners without delay.

He described the approval as another demonstration of the Rescue Mission Administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens and ensuring that retired public servants receive the support and dignity they deserve after years of service.

The commissioner added that Governor Lawal remains committed to implementing people-centred policies aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic challenges while fulfilling his administration’s obligations to workers, pensioners and other residents of the state.

“The Zamfara State Government reassures pensioners that it will continue to prioritise their welfare through policies and programmes designed to improve their standard of living and guarantee their well-being.”

“The approval is another clear demonstration of the Rescue Mission Administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens and ensuring that retired public servants who devoted their productive years to the service of Zamfara State receive the support and dignity they deserve,” the statement said.
