Zamfara State government has reinvigorated its Poverty Alleviation Programme by releasing additional funds for distribution to the vulnerable across the 14 local councils of the state.

This is in addition to the other relief measures of the government such as N20,000 being distributed monthly to 1,800 women across the state, the N-Cares packages and ZASIP programmes of the state government, as well as the school feeding programme of the Federal Government.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Dosara, the state embarked on the relief support programme to reduce the effect of the economic hardship in the country, coupled with the security challenges in the state.

In the programme, N500 million will be shared among 50,000 beneficiaries monthly to assist them cope with the challenges of the time, to boost the state’s economy.
