Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has assured that houses and public structures destroyed by Boko Haram in the state will be rebuilt next year.

Zulum gave the assurance on Saturday while assessing the destroyed buildings, hospital and agricultural equipment of the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA).

According to him, the new and old Marte communities had been destroyed for the rebuilding of houses, schools and a hospital.

Marte, 145 kilometres east of Maiduguri, the state capital, was held by Boko Haram for three years before the military liberated it in 2016.
