SIR: I was honoured with the prestigious Diana Award, the highest accolade given to young people for their social action work or humanitarian efforts. Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, this award is supported by HRH The Prince of Wales and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex.
I am also one of the 22 recipients from Nigeria this year out of about 200 recipients all over the world despite about 90% rejections of the nominations this year, making it the most competitive year yet.
This recognition stems from my work with The Leverage Project, an initiative I started two years ago to address gaps in employability education. Through mentorship, training, and resources, the project has supported over 1,270 young people and professionals, with more than 150 of them securing internships and global opportunities.
One of my key initiatives, The Exemplars Magazine, has further amplified my impact, garnering a readership of 1,780 people across 15 countries worldwide. I believe this recognition and my story could inspire readers, highlighting the importance of youth-led innovation and the power of social impact initiatives.
If you would like to explore this further, I would be delighted to share more details or provide insights for a feature.
