Analysis
Among the 11 aspirants, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi and Senators Jide Omoworare and Mudashiru Hussein are widely regarded as serious contenders, based on leadership experience, administrative competence, and public service record. The remaining aspirants contribute valuable perspectives and community engagement but are newer to statewide governance roles.

Dr. Ogunbiyi, CEO of Mutual Assurance Plc and from Osun West Senatorial District, is seen as a candidate with strong grassroots appeal and widespread electoral acceptance. The APC electoral delegates have a crucial role in selecting a candidate with proven leadership, integrity, and commitment to the state’s development.
