Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, yesterday, reaffirmed his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for re-election, just as he lauded the support of the Accord Party.
This was contained in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Adeleke, who was quoted as having made this disclosure while addressing his cabinet members at the Government House, Osogbo, clarified that the crisis rocking the local governments in the state has not affected his endorsement of Tinubu during his days in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, declaring that the party must secure one million votes for the President next year.
Aiyedatiwa emphasised the need for the state to justify the support it had received at the federal level by delivering a significant number of votes for the President at the poll.
The governor made the call at a stakeholders’ meeting with APC members held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Akure, where he addressed party leaders, pre-delegates and other stakeholders on preparations for the forthcoming party’s zonal congresses and national convention.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the party’s constitution permits either direct primaries or consensus in the conduct of congresses, noting that a unity list had already been prepared by leaders in consultation with national stakeholders.
The governor urged members to adopt decisions taken by party leaders, stressing that the same method used during the ward, local government and state congresses would be maintained at the zonal and national levels.
