As political realignments quietly gather pace ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, a new entrant into the Delta State political arena, Sir (Builder) Blessing Oghale Obomovo, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obomovo, a real estate developer and Chief Executive Officer of Standout Properties Limited, made his declaration in a personally signed statement on Sunday, unveiling what he described as a “people-driven” development blueprint tagged the OGHALEISOKO2027 Agenda.
The agenda outlines priorities including infrastructure, healthcare, economic empowerment, and what he termed “accessible representation.”
Framing his ambition as a response to longstanding developmental gaps in Isoko land, Obomovo argued that the constituency remains “richly blessed yet insufficiently developed,” positioning himself as a candidate who understands grassroots realities.
He stressed that representation “must be more than presence in Abuja,” but should translate into tangible improvements in constituents’ lives.
While Obomovo highlighted his background in construction, housing, and philanthropy, he emphasized on “strategic lobbying and oversight” to attract federal opportunities, though notable, remains largely conceptual, legislative instruments he would pursue if elected.
Obomovo’s declaration speech struck a populist tone, appealing to youths, women, and traditional leaders, and calling for unity across Isoko communities.
He said his candidacy enjoys the backing of key party stakeholders wish expanded across grassroots in the Isoko axis; adding that his profile as an award-winning builder and community developer are plus to seeking non-traditional politicians, electoral success in the constituency.
