2027: Group vows Tinubu will surpass 2023 votes in Ondo, mobilises in wards

• Obasa, others rally support for President’s re-election
• APC group says South-West is Tinubu’s fortress

A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), has vowed to deliver 95 per cent of Ondo State’s votes to President Bola Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election.

It, however, expressed confidence that enhanced grassroots engagement and performance-based voter considerations will propel it to achieve the set target for 2027.

According to the Director-General of the group, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, who outlined a plan to consolidate support across all 203 wards and polling units in the state, the next phase of the group’s engagement will be centred entirely on intensive mobilisation.

Asagunla, therefore, urged all stakeholders to set aside internal differences and focus entirely on mobilisation efforts for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Similarly, another support group within the APC, BTO4PBAT27, has urged opposition parties to shift their quest of wrestling the South-West from Tinubu, describing the move as an impossible task.

According to the group, with Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, opposition parties will have no chance in the region, particularly since the South-West remains one of his strongholds ahead of the 2027.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr Mudashiru Obasa, has said that the continuity of Tinubu’s administration beyond 2027 is crucial to consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the President’s achievements have positioned him strongly for a second term.

Obasa made the remark during an interfaith prayer session held in Ikeja to commemorate Tinubu’s 74th birthday, which was organised by The Mandate Movement (TMM).

He said that the prayer session was not only for the President’s good health, long life, wisdom, and success in leading the nation beyond 2027, but also for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, security, and overall development.

Obasa, therefore, urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting Tinubu’s agenda.

In his remark, former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, who praised Tinubu’s leadership and legacy, urged Nigerians to rally behind the President’s re-election bid.

“President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s progress is commendable, and it is our collective duty to support him so that the nation can fully reap the benefits of his reforms,” Ambode said.

He added that the President had stabilised the country and its economy, expressing confidence that Nigeria will continue to prosper under his administration.

In his speech, Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde, lauded Tinubu for his efforts in repositioning the economy, saying that all Nigerians should support the President to continue beyond 2027.
