The chairman of Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, has vowed that he would deliver Zamfara State to his party in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, Maikatako said that he is a leader of uncommon capacity, courage, and coordination, saying that he is working round the clock to ensure victory for his party in the State.

He said that he has been peacefully and widely accepted, stressing that under his leadership, the NDC has grown across all 14 local government areas of the State.

Maikatako pointed out that he built the party from the polling unit level to the State level, and that his greatest achievement is the turnaround of the electorate to welcome his Campaign Council, through his effort and coordination, the Campaign Council became a formidable of victory, noting that every strategy and mobilisation bears his imprint.

“I’m a man of the people. Whenever I call on the people of Zamfara to support my candidates, especially Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, the people answer”, he added.

“Why ? Because I am a mathematician, a political juganut who always stands by the truth, like my mentor, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa. He does not count only votes; he counts principles. He stands for justice, integrity, and loyalty. That is why he is trusted, respected, and followed”

Maikatako explained that his loyalty to Senator Kabir Garba Marafa is a matter of conviction, not convenience, saying that under his leadership, Marafa support groups across the 14 local government areas remain intact and united.

He further said that he is the bridge between the people and their leader, adding that he has made the NDC a home for every supporter of Senator Marafa.

A chieftain of the party, Alhaji Mustapha also confirmed to journalists that Maikatako is a miraculous chairman, noting that the chairman has achieved what many thought impossible.

“Uniting diverse interests, building a formidable movement, and keeping hope alive. He calls for peace, discipline, and issue-based politics. He reminds us that the battle is to defeat incompetence with votes, not violence”
