APC governors, others congratulate Buhari on electoral victory
Results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicated that Buhari won the polls with 15,191,947 votes to beat his closest rival and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who polled 11,262,978 votes.
Basking in the euphoria of the President’s victory, Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, described Buhari’s re-election for another four years as a referendum in support of integrity, good governance and the fight against corruption.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji yesterday, he congratulated the President on his victory.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje also said APC’s victory in last Saturday’s election was a sign that he will be returned as governor of the state.
Ganduje, who expressed confidence that the APC will win the governorship election in the state, described those who are contesting the results of last Saturday’s elections from Kano as unserious people.
Also, Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has congratulated President Buhari on his re-election for a second term.
He said the President’s re-election was an attestation to the fact that Nigerians appreciate his efforts at making life more comfortable for the people in the last four years.
However, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday congratulated President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on their victory at the 2019 presidential elections, saying it was a victory well deserved.
Responding, Kebbi State Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu congratulated the President for his election victory, saying it was another chance to witness more development in the country.
Besides, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, joined other Nigerians to felicitate with President Buhari on his re-election.
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha also congratulated Buhari on his success at the polls.
He sent his congratulatory message in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo.
Meanwhile, Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola said the President’s victory as the appreciation of good governance and quality leadership.
While describing Buhari’s victory as well-deserved, Oyetola told reporters that the outcome of this election shows that President Buhari has done very well and his victory gives hope for our democracy.
Also in his reaction, a member of APC Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Abba Ali described President Buhari’s victory as the will of the people.
