The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), accused the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, of undermining the party’s leadership, threatening to activate its disciplinary measures against him.

Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Chekwas Okorie, during a press briefing in Abuja, stated that Soludo’s attitude was unbecoming and a clear indication that he is “determined to sacrifice APGA rather than submit to Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of the party.

Okorie, in a statement, titled, “In the matter of APGA, Chukwuma Soludo has crossed the rubicon,’ regretted that the governor had repeatedly thwarted the latitude extended to him to halt his alleged continued sponsorship of the crisis in APGA.

He said: “Highly respected and very senior clergymen in Anambra State, traditional rulers, an association of town union presidents-general, several businesses and intellectual elite in the state have, at various times, appealed to Soludo to stop his unprovoked war against the party, which provided him with the opportunity to become the governor of the state, after two previous failed attempts.

“Despite entreaties to the governor to give peace a chance and allow APGA to live out its full potential and promise, he remained recalcitrant, carrying on like a bull in the China shop.”

Okorie stated that every reasonable Nigerian had expected that the protracted leadership dispute in APGA would cease after the Supreme Court ruling, which affirmed Njoku as the National Chairman of the party, regretting that Soludo and his goons refused to accept the Supreme Court judgment.”
