Cleric refutes being suspended for hosting YPP candidates
The Apostolic Church Nigeria cleric in Akwa Ibom, Eket Field, Pastor Emmanuel Henshaw, has refuted stories on the social media and in some national dailies (not The Guardian) that he has been suspended for hosting YPP candidates and members to a thanksgiving service.
Henshaw, who spoke in a telephone interview, said he had never been suspended by his Field Superintendent , Dr. Sunday Ukpong.
Henshaw said he was shocked to read stories of his suspension in the media and accused the media of twisting their reports.
A statement by The Apostolic Church, signed by the secretary made available to The Guardian, confirmed that Henshaw was not suspended.
The church described the story as falsehood, misleading and scandalous with the aim of causing rancour in the polity.
