David Mark, Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, Rep task Nigerians on restructuring, others
The immediate past Senate President, David Mark, has urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of renaissance, stressing that only such renewal among the citizens could serve as panacea for the current socio-economic and political challenges facing the country.
In a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Mr. Paul Mumeh, Mark acknowledged the difficult times which many Nigerians are passing through, but assured that without despair, the citizens could re-enact the indomitable spirit that have seen them through many travails in the past.
Also, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has said Nigerians should be grateful to God for remaining one entity as a nation in spite of myriad of challenges that would have thrown it into another round of civil war with all the attendant negative implications.
In another development, the Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Umar Buba Jibril, has admonished the Federal Government to give a second consideration to the agitation for restructuring and devolution of powers for the country to move forward.
Jibril, who spoke in Lokoja over the weekend, said for Nigeria to move forward, there was need for diversification in the economy and in the polity, adding that doing the same thing year-in-year-out has led to the disaffection.
