
The Edo State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) over the weekend inaugurated a new set of executives to pilot the party’s affairs for the next four years after a successful state congress, which was held in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Mr. John Agbaje was re-elected as the State Chairman, alongside a full complement of other new officers, who were all unanimously endorsed by the congress.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Agbaje expressed his gratitude to NNPP members for re-electing him and reaffirmed his commitment to building a stronger party.
He called for unity and collaboration, stressing that only through collective effort could the party make meaningful progress.

“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility for another four years.
This victory is for all of us. It is a victory to serve the people and take our party to greater heights. Together, we will work to realize our goal of having a presence in Osadebe House, the seat of government in Edo State,” Agbaje said.
Agbaje also set ambitious targets for the party, vowing to produce candidates for key political positions, including the vacant Edo-Central Senatorial seat and the Ovia North and Ovia South Federal Constituencies.

He urged party members to prepare for future elections at all levels, from local councils to the national stage.
He also emphasized the importance of grassroots engagement, noting that, “True victory in politics comes from connecting with the grassroots. We must ensure that all candidates are given a fair chance to present their vision and engage with the people directly. This is the key to winning elections.”
The newly elected executives are expected to play a pivotal role in mobilizing the party’s supporters and driving its political agenda forward.
