Ex-LG chairman, ex-commissioner join Matawalle, Yari’s faction of APC

Former Commissioner for Environment and one-time Chairman of Bukkuyum Local Government Area, Nasiru Zarumi Masama, has announced his defection from Aminu Sani Jaji’s political camp of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the faction led by Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and former Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar.

Masama formally declared his withdrawal of loyalty, trust, and allegiance from Jaji’s camp, pledging full support for what he described as the “genuine” APC under the leadership of Matawalle and Senator Yari.

He was officially received by Matawalle and Yari, alongside his supporters, at the Minister’s office in Ship House, Abuja.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Zamfara State APC Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, who described Masama’s defection as a significant step toward strengthening unity within the party.
“We pray to Almighty God to continue to strengthen, guide, and assist our great leaders in the APC toward achieving greater success politically and in the hereafter,” Gusau said.

He added, “May Almighty God bless Zamfara State and the entire northern region with peace and stability.”
