Ganduje happy at large turnout, late arrival of materials mar polls
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has applauded voters for turning out en masse.Speaking after voting at Ganduje Village polling unit, he expressed satisfaction at the orderly manner voters conducted themselves. He, feigned ignorance of the delay in voting commencement within Kano metropolitan councils of Nasarawa, Kano Municipal, Fagge, Tarauni, and Kumbotso.
He disclosed that the security situation in Kano remains calm and peaceful, barely 48 hours after a deadly clash between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters that left about five persons dead, with several injured.
Men of the Nigeria Police and paramilitary agencies manned the polling centres visited. At Tarauni Garden collation centre, Tarauni Local Government, electoral officers were just departing with electoral materials at 8:15am, while voters’ accreditation commenced at 9:35am at Fagge Plaza polling centre, with long queues of voters.
