…He is a fighter– Olorunfunmi

Bashorun Reuben Olorunfunmi, a member of Lagos State chapter of APC, says Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 68the anniversary offers another opportunity to look at his leadership credentials.

Bashorun Reuben Olorunfunmi, a member of Lagos State chapter of APC, says Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 68the anniversary offers another opportunity to look at his leadership credentials.

The Elder statesman explained that despite being younger, “Tinubu is our leader because leadership is not tied to age,” adding that if it was, the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo would not have been the leader instead of the late Pa Ajasin in their time.

He stated; “Ajasin was older. But Tinubu, since I knew him, has always been a fighter. He believes in Nigeria and works all the time towards achieving whatever good intentions he had for the country.

“Simply put, he is a worthy patriot that should be respected anytime. He is a clear-sighted visionary. You find him sitting down and talking like a prophet that, look, let us go this way or that way, because this might happen. He is a very resourceful person and positive thinker.

He is also a deft administrator in the sense that he used to plan ahead and then finding materials around to implement. In terms of strategy, I have come across many politicians in this country since the days of Chief Awolowo, (but) Tinubu is the only one that is planning like Awolowo.

“Tinubu can be equated as a politician with a plan. He is also a great philanthropist, who doles out whatever he has to people at the smallest information. In terms of fighting for others he is a fighter.”

Bashorun Olorunfunmi recalled how when three governors were defeated, Tinubu staked his resources to retake governors’ mandates.

“The governors were Dr. Kayosde Fayemi, former governor of Ondo State, Segun Mimiko, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo.

He maintained that it was through strategic planning that Tinubu was able to restore the mandates for the governors, stressing, “Tinubu built it in them to fight and the Court of Appeal accepted their mandate and that’s why some of us who has been with him in the game much more earlier stayed with him and accept him as our leader,” he surmised.
