The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State, Bamidele Akingboye, has disclosed that his blueprint would in no small measure transform the state economy and tackle the issue of insecurity in the state.

According to Akingboye, who stated this in Akure, the state capital, the blueprint was drawn from his expertise in managing conglomerates across the African continent and beyond.

The SDP candidate revealed that he would invest massively in the agricultural sector to tackle food shortages and bring down the high cost of living.

He promised to build irrigation systems, storage facilities, and markets across the state.

On insecurity, Akingboye said he would ensure a robust security architecture is established to ensure the safety of citizens and investors.

The governorship candidate emphasised that he would implement community policing initiatives to foster trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the public.

He said: “My pledge to the people of Ondo State is that I will restore these companies to their former glory for the purpose of creating jobs, stimulating economic growth, and attracting investments.

“I will provide support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognizing their critical role in driving economic development.”
