The PDP candidate in the November 26, 2016 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) says the verdict has vindicated his cause.

In a statement yesterday in Akure, Jegede added that the judgment which also sacked the earlier verdict recognising Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, would berth true reconciliation.

“Today we are again vindicated through the highest court of the land, an event that brings a definitive end to the factionalisation within our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.”

He said it would “begin a process of genuine reconciliation and self-cleansing, healing and rebirth that will usher in a new season of hope and refreshing for our people.”

Several court verdicts had sacked Jegede as the party’s standard-bearer, but only reclaimed it from Jimoh Ibrahim at the Supreme Court two days to the election.
