Imo Assembly resumes plenary, as Speaker charges colleagues on productivity

Imo State House of Assembly yesterday, resumed plenary after eight weeks of recess. Speaking on the floor of the House, the Speaker, Paul Emeziem, urged both his colleagues and staff of the Assembly.....

Imo State House of Assembly yesterday, resumed plenary after eight weeks of recess. Speaking on the floor of the House, the Speaker, Paul Emeziem, urged both his colleagues and staff of the Assembly to remain committed to effective service delivery.

He also charged the House correspondents on objective reportage, adding that the Assembly under his leadership will continue to legislate for the progress and development of the state and her people.

He said, “Honourable members as we return after our recess, I implore us to put more efforts and commitment to our legislative work so that we will be able to deliver more dividends of democracy to the good people of Imo State who gave us their mandate.

“To staff of this Honourable house, I request you to be ready to move at our pace as we are in a haste to accomplish a lot this session.”

“I also want to use this opportunity to welcome members of the press and urge them to be more objective and apply professionalism in their coverage of events of this house.”

The Speaker however adjourned the sitting to 28th October, 2021, which is five weeks to date. This was after the House had just returned from its eight weeks recess which started on 27th July, 2021.
