The Lead Visioner of Lagos4Lagos, Dr AbdulAzeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has pledged the support of his political structure for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Jandor made the commitment during a visit to the campaign office of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director-General of the campaign organisation of the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.
The meeting centred on integrating Lagos4Lagos into the party’s grassroots mobilisation structure, with Jandor assuring the APC of the group’s readiness to work for victory across the state.
Explaining his decision to withdraw from the APC governorship primary, Jandor said it was motivated by respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s leadership.
“We withdrew from the state governorship primary election out of respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leaders of the party,” he said.
He said Lagos4Lagos had supported the APC during the last local government elections despite not fielding candidates, adding that the group printed posters and campaigned across all 20 local governments.
Jandor said the group’s quick response to Obanikoro’s invitation demonstrated its readiness for the mobilisation task, noting that members were assembled across wards and local governments within 24 hours.
He disclosed that Lagos4Lagos was already preparing to deploy two persons to each of the more than 13,000 polling units in the state, stressing that the group was determined to secure victory for the party.
According to him, the presidential election would remain the group’s priority, with victory for Tinubu in Lagos crucial to the APC’s broader electoral objective.
“The most important is the presidential election and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must win for all of us to win,” he said.
Jandor said the group would work to reverse Tinubu’s loss of Lagos in the 2023 presidential election, declaring: “We will bring the energy back to win the presidency in the first ballot. We just need to right the wrong of 2023.”
He also pledged to work with Hamzat despite political differences surrounding the governorship primary.
“We have said it that whoever the party presents, qualified for the job, and we are ready to work with Dr Obafemi Kadri Hamzat. We will work for the party,” he said.
Earlier, Obanikoro urged Lagos4Lagos members to integrate into the APC’s ward and local government structures, saying the campaign would be decentralised because elections were won at the grassroots.
“We have people, but they did not come out to vote in 2023. We want people to come out this time around,” he said.
Obanikoro acknowledged the APC’s declining fortunes in the last two elections, but said the party had learnt from its setbacks and would strengthen its structures across senatorial districts, local governments and wards.
He urged members to set aside personal disagreements and focus on winning the elections, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in 2027.
“With what I have seen, I can see that we will win big in the 2027 general elections,” he declared.
He described Hamzat as an experienced candidate and called on party members to intensify mobilisation to deliver both the governorship candidate and Tinubu.
“We must deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat,” Obanikoro said.
