Women politicians under the aegis of SYD Kwara Central Women Elders Caucus in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Thursday organised special prayer in Ilorin for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the 2027 general elections.
The prayer was extended to Kwara APC gubernatorial candidate and Speaker, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (SYD), and all the party’s candidates in 2027 polls.
Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq was represented at the session by his Senior Adviser and Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu.
The prayer, jointly coordinated by Alfa AbdulGaniyu Adeta and Alfa Surulere Magaji, led other clerics to recite the entire holy Qur’an, seeking God’s support for Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi- Salihu and other APC candidates.
The leader of SYD Kwara Central Women Elders Caucus, Alhaja Afusatu Bolohunduro (Iya Dakor), said: “we’re motivated because of the superlative performance of Governor AbdulRazaq in the last seven years.
“We are happy and excited that Governor AbdulRazaq is doing well. We noticed his support and collaboration with President Tinubu to make life abundant for Kwarans and Nigerians. Therefore, we need to assist our performing leaders with prayer. We are asking God to ensure the success of Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, Danladi- Salihu and all APC candidates at the polls,” she said.
The APC Women leader in Kwara Central, Alhaja Tawa Agaka, commended the governor for his administration’s women and youth inclusiveness.
She said the governor had in the last seven years prioritised women and youth empowerment, noting that youth empowerment has ensure peace and stability across the state as most youths are now positively engaged.
Alhaja Mariam Salman Isowo from Ilorin West, declared that governor’s performance and his kindness towards women necessitated the prayer session.
In a brief sermon, chief Imam of Ipata Anifowose, Sheikh AbdulKadir Mustapha Alahonpe said Governor AbdulRazaq is conducting the affairs of the state with the fear of God, describing him as a just and fair leader.
Describing the governor as a detribalised leader, the cleric said this attribute made him to support a Kwara north man as APC gubernatorial candidate.
