Oyo State former governors Rasheed Ladoja and Alao Akala are set to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The indication emerged following their representation at a reconciliatory meeting convened by the national leadership of the party in Abuja.

At the stakeholders’ meeting, Senator Femi Lanlehin represented Ladoja while Tajudeen Kareem stood in for Alao-Akala.

Ladoja had defected to the Accord Party while Akala joined the Labour Party before moving over to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing a delegation of former PDP’s presiding officers in the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee (NCC), Senator Ahmed Makarfi, said the party could no longer afford cutting corners or engage in acts capable of engendering litigation.
According to him, the PDP was committed to doing all it could to attract more members to its fold and strengthen itself.

“We have gotten judiciary victory, we need to consolidate and translate it into political victory. Political victory means expanding the scope of the party, reconciling all reconcilable and attracting members into the party to enable us regain political power at the centre by overwhelming majority,” he said.
