‘My pedigree, experience will earn me APC’s ticket, says Omisore’

Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and erstwhile National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, yesterday, said his pedigree and rich democratic experience in good governance would earn him the gubernatorial ticket of the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

Omisore, who formally declared his ambition to govern Osun State at the APC secretariat in Osogbo, contended that responsive governance had eluded the people of the state in the last three years, saying that his party’s chances of taking over government during next year’s poll were brighter.

The former deputy governor, while addressing a large crowd of supporters and party faithful that thronged the venue of his declaration, said among the governorship aspirants jostling for the party’s ticket, he has the clout and political wherewithal to deliver victory for the APC during the election.

According to him, “it is obvious that the people of Osun have been yearning for good governance in the past three years and going forward, I am expecting them to vote for APC en masse come 2026.”

Earlier in his remark, a former lawmaker, Senator Ajibola Famurewa, commended the people for their solidarity with Omisore, saying that “we are sure that with their support, Omisore will emerge as the party’s candidate.

“Governance is a serious business, and as a former deputy governor, he is the most experienced among other good aspirants of the party to fly the ticket and deliver victory come next year,” he added.
