Ogun 2027: Boot Party candidate promises practical solutions

Boot Party candidate promises practical solutions

The governorship candidate of the Boot Party for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, Engr. Adekunle Adenuga has pledged to address the state’s developmental challenges through what he described as a practical and well-researched blueprint developed over the past 16 years.

Adenuga made the pledge while accepting the party’s governorship ticket during the unveiling of its candidates at the Boot Party Secretariat in Arinlese, Abeokuta.

He expressed appreciation to the party for the confidence reposed in him, saying he accepted the nomination with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to improving governance in the state.

The engineer  turned politician  added that his ambition is driven by a desire to provide sustainable solutions to the challenges confronting Ogun State and the country rather than criticise previous administrations.

Adenuga said the development blueprint prepared by his team aligns with national development objectives and is intended to serve as a model that could be replicated across the country.

He noted that although the vision had been conceived several years ago, the time had come to implement it, beginning with Ogun State.

The governorship candidate argued that Nigerians had repeatedly heard campaign promises centred on healthcare, education, infrastructure,  and security without corresponding improvements, adding that the Boot Party was offering a different approach.
“I accept to be the flag bearer of this party. For over 16 years, I have been working seriously to find solutions to the problems confronting our society. We have carefully developed our plans and agenda, and today, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to present them, starting from Ogun State,” he said.

“I did not come to condemn anybody. I came to fix exactly what our problems are. We have a practical and structured plan that will address the issues facing our people.

“Our plan is for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but we are starting from Ogun State to set an example. Other states will begin to ask questions when they see the results.

“I don’t want to repeat what people have heard from other political parties. We continue to hear the same promises on healthcare, education, infrastructure, and security,” Adenuga added.
Earlier, the Ogun State Chairman of the Boot Party, Arch. Abiodun Akerele, said the party would uphold transparency, accountability, the rule of law and selfless service if elected into office.

Akerele described the principles as the foundation of the party’s ideology, noting that its motto is “Fiduciary, Obedience and Service.”

He said the party remained committed to prudent management of public resources and strict compliance with constitutional provisions.

According to him, the party distinguishes itself through financial accountability, including compliance with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s requirement for political parties to submit annual financial reports detailing their income and expenditure.

“Our party gives a detailed account of every income and expenditure every year as required by INEC. Accountability is one of our core values, and when we are entrusted with public office, we will ensure that every resource given to us on behalf of the people is properly accounted for,” he said.

Akerele also stressed the need for obedience to both the party’s constitution and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, saying discipline and progress could only thrive where laws are respected.

“Without obedience, there will be no discipline, no progress, and crime will thrive. In this party, our constitution is supreme, and every member is expected to obey the rules and regulations,” he said.

On service, he said the party was established to serve the people rather than pursue personal interests, adding that its elected officials would prioritise the welfare of citizens.
