A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned, till February 17, 2025, for the adoption of all court processes in a suit filed by the Pro-Fubara Rivers State House of Assembly members, against the 27 Pro-Wike lawmakers.

The Pro-Fubara lawmakers are challenging the status and legitimacy of 27 other members of the state Assembly following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During the hearing yesterday, counsel to Martin Amaewhule and 14 others, Ferdinand Orbih, informed the court that some filed processes were missing from the case file. He requested an adjournment to trace the documents, a request that was not opposed by the other parties.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General of Rivers State and Commissioner for Justice, Dagogo Israel-Iboroma, asked the judge to direct all parties to verify and regularise their processes at least four days before the next hearing date to prevent further delays, which was accepted by the presiding judge.

Justice Emmanuel Obile, after listening to submissions from the counsels, granted the request and adjourned the matter to February 17, 2025, for the adoption of all processes filed in the suit.

HOWEVER, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch AdejareAdeboye, paid a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Governor, SiminalayiFubara, at the Government House, Port Harcourt, yesterday.

During the visit, Adeboye prayed for the governor, his family, the state government, and peace, unity, and progress. The revered cleric also presented gifts to the governor as a symbol of goodwill and spiritual blessing.

Fubara was joined by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, during the visit and Adeboye was accompanied by senior pastors, church leaders, and other members of his entourage.

The visit is seen as a significant gesture of spiritual support for the governor and the people of Rivers State.
Adeboye’s prayers for peace, unity, and progress are particularly relevant given the state’s history of challenges and its ongoing efforts to promote development and prosperity.
