The ranks of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been boosted following the decision by a former minister of aviation and serving senator, Princess Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, to join the party.

Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, who dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was received at a brief ceremony in Abuja, yesterday, by Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.

Oduah said she joined the APC family with a view to changing the political narrative in the South East. She said she made the move along with multitude of supporters who, according to her, have been jubilating in Anambra State.

In attendance at the ceremony were: Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege; and the party’s governorship candidate in the November 2021 Anambra election, Senator Andy Uba.

Buni congratulated the Anambra State-born politician for joining the party and promised: “You will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver.”

While welcoming her to the party, Bagudu said she is a national figure who has joined “a national movement to deliver a greater Nigeria for the future.”
Uzodimma, who is also Chairman of the Anambra State Campaign Council, insisted Anambra would be won by APC in the November 2021 election.
