VAT: APC chieftain lauds AbdulRazaq over Kwara’s position on NBS chart
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Engineer Opeyemi Olabanji, has lauded the state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for placing the state on an enviable pedestal in the recently released statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on 2024 VAT contributions.
Opeyemi, in a chat with reporters on Sunday in Ilorin, the state capital, said that the statistics, in which Kwara State topped such industrial and agriculturally endowed states as Kaduna, Ogun, and Ondo, remained one of the most surprising and impactful revelations of Nigeria’s socio-economic reality.
Olabanji, from Ijan-Otun in Irepodun Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara, attributed the quantum leap of the state on the nation’s economic chart to the doggedness of AbdulRazaq and the efforts of the capable individuals in his administration.
He said, “So surprising is the information that it’s currently occupying front burner mode in contemporary national political discourse. The Governor deserves our accolades, as do all other members of his cabinet who are not used to noise-making or unnecessary propaganda that had, before now, been the bane of the state’s political and economic growth.
“With this data, Nigeria is definitely going forward, and it won’t be the same again in her fiscal policy. I challenge all Kwarans that can read to find and peruse this information and pass their comments on it. In fact, I’m flabbergasted by Kwara’s performance. Who would have ever imagined that Kwara is giving more to the nation than almighty Ogun, with its closeness to Lagos and a seaport?
“I say, who would ever fathom that Kwara is giving more to the federation than the great Kaduna? Brothers and sisters, imagine our dear state of Kwara actually giving more than Ondo, with all its thick forests and water sides.
“For the detractors of Governor AbdulRazaq, this information is a big validation of the strategic governance in Kwara. In fact, His Excellency deserves our accolades.”
He canvassed for more support for the Governor to enable him to take the state to the top five on the NBS chart before the expiration of his tenure.
